Service Professionals began with six (6) commercial HVAC service contractors who desired a peer network focused on best practices and sales training specific to driving the recurring revenue base. Called Service Professional Group (SPGroup), this membership network has now grown to include contractors across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and has expanded its offering to include job tools & resources as well as training for all other roles including customer service, project sales, and service and sales leadership.
In 2016, an Atlanta-based SPGroup member credited their sales success to an in-house web-based software they had created: Connect Software. Now a Service Professionals product, SPConnect is utilized by SPGroup members to train and manage their sales teams.
In 2020, our Philadelphia-based member, the Tustin Group, developed the curriculum for an in-house technician training program but struggled to achieve certification by the State. Recognizing the opportunity to impact the labor shortage nationally, Service Professionals worked with the Tustin Group to form SPAcademy, which was granted National approval by the Department of Labor.
In 2021, SPConnect and SPAcademy were made available outside of the SPGroup member network, and Service Professionals was formed, hosting all three offerings, dedicated to the growth and development of the commercial HVAC services industry.
